Coaching Philosophy

People often ask me about my coaching approach and philosophy. It can be summarised in 3 key pillars or stages.

These aren’t rigid steps. They’re a framework. And I adapt them to you. My approach is dynamic and pragmatic. What works for one person might not work for another. My focus is to listen to you and build a relationship of trust and understanding, rather than simply imposing frameworks and practices on you.

The first pillar – Reclaim your attention:

  • The first step is to regain control of your attention from the distractions sapping it, and sabotaging your ability to be present and aware in daily life.
  • If you’re unconsciously scrolling for hours a day, you will become unhappy, and you will be unable to access the kinds of deep happiness and fulfilment possible on the spiritual path.
  • We’ll use meditation to retrain your mind, build concentration, and reclaim your attention

The second pillar – Wake up to suffer less:

  • Having built a foundation of mental stability and attention, we can begin deconstructing conceptual illusions about who we are and how we create our own unhappiness.
  • With practice and guidance, you can discover what some refer to as, “unconditioned awareness”, “Nirvana”, “Buddha-nature”, or the “groundless ground of being”.
  • This is your original state of being, one that you can have confidence and trust in. Gaining access to a peace and happiness that is always already present

The third pillar – Creating the life we want:

  • Once you’ve shed the conceptual shackles tying you down and keeping you unhappy, you can find out and create the life you want, find your unique purpose and calling.
  • We start to build practice around uncovering the meaningful archetypes that resonate with you at a deep level in the psyche, and begin to build your life around them.
  • The key practice is fertilising and cultivating our imagination and our ability to create new conceptual frameworks for ourselves that we prefer.
